Baghdad: The most prominent candidate for the presidency of the Council of Representatives, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, has confirmed that a parliamentary majority is available for today’s session to elect the president. This development is expected to lead to the completion of the parliament presidency file in the upcoming session scheduled for Thursday evening.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mashhadani made this announcement in a statement to journalists, including a correspondent from the agency. He mentioned that there is a significant parliamentary majority ready to convene the session and resolve the issue of electing the parliament speaker. Al-Mashhadani also highlighted the presence of important understandings with all major political blocs, including the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the Coordination Framework, and the Sunni majority, which have been pivotal in moving towards this election.
