Baghdad: Iraq has experienced significant transformations over the past two decades, according to Ammar al-Hakim, head of the National State Forces Alliance. Al-Hakim emphasized that the nation is now beginning to accumulate positives and reap the benefits of the sacrifices made by its people. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hakim met with Mohammed al-Hassan, the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, welcoming him to Baghdad and expressing well wishes for his mission. During their meeting, Al-Hakim highlighted the importance of international organizations in advancing Iraq's progress and noted the country's shift from ethnic and sectarian differences to political differences within its components. Al-Hakim expressed that Iraq is witnessing a remarkable state of stability across political, security, and social spheres. He urged for collective efforts to transform this stability into a permanent state, underscoring Iraq's pivotal regional and international role in fostering dialogue among regional parties. He reiterated his commitment to the recent statement of the supreme religious authority, viewing it as a roadmap for addressing Iraqi and regional challenges, and noted the support from political blocs for this approach. Additionally, Al-Hakim addressed regional developments, advocating for de-escalation and emphasizing the urgency to halt conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon. He called for efforts to provide relief to displaced populations and to rebuild affected cities, emphasizing the need for peace and reconstruction in the region.
