Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command announced the capture of two individuals suspected of being affiliated with ISIS, along with the seizure of weapons and ammunition in coordinated operations conducted north and south of the Iraqi capital.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command, in coordination with the Intelligence and Security Department, executed the arrests with the Sixth Infantry Division and the Federal Police Mechanized Division. The operation resulted in the apprehension of two terrorists linked to ISIS during an extensive inspection and follow-up operation. The arrests took place at the Tal Tasa/Al-Mushahadah and Baghdad-Babylon checkpoints.
The Command’s statement emphasized the success of the operation, which included activating judicially wanted individuals’ records and conducting strategic inspections. In addition to the arrests, security forces seized a number of unlicensed weapons and ammunition in the Arab South area adjacent to Al-Karkh. The operation underscores continued ef
forts to combat terrorist activities and maintain security in the region.
