BASRA: A delegation of diplomatic missions visited the Grand Faw Port on Thursday to evaluate the stages of its completion, as part of an inspection tour organized by the governorate. The delegation was accompanied by the head of the Security Committee of the Basra Council and the Director General of the Iraqi Ports Company, Farhan Al-Fartousi.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the head of the Security Committee reported that the delegation was informed about the ongoing work and progress at the port, including the stages of implementing the submerged tunnel and various completed sections of the project. This visit was part of a program designed to familiarize diplomatic missions with the reconstruction and infrastructure projects accomplished by the local government in recent years.
Furthermore, it was noted that on Wednesday evening, Basra Governorate welcomed over 145 Arab and foreign dignitaries, with the presence of Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, highlighting the region’s com
mitment to international collaboration and development.
