Al-Sudani and British Foreign Secretary Discuss Bilateral Relations and Regional Developments


BAGHDAD: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani engaged in a phone conversation with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, focusing on the enhancement of bilateral relations, regional developments, and the situation in Syria.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the call, Prime Minister Al-Sudani reiterated Iraq’s commitment to Syria’s security, territorial integrity, sovereignty, and civil peace. He emphasized the importance of honoring the choices and diversity of the Syrian people and called for major powers to intervene in resolving the ongoing tragedy in Gaza.

British Foreign Secretary Lammy expressed anticipation for Al-Sudani’s forthcoming visit to the United Kingdom, viewing it as an opportunity to strengthen partnerships for mutual benefit. Lammy underscored the international coalition’s commitments to Iraq across various sectors and highlighted Iraq’s crucial role in maintaining regional security and stability.
