BAGHDAD: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani inaugurated the sixty-first session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers and its Executive Office, highlighting significant advancements in Iraq’s health sector. The meeting underscored the government’s commitment to healthcare improvements and regional cooperation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani, in his inauguration speech, emphasized that the health sector remains a top priority for the government’s agenda. He noted that citizens have started to perceive positive changes within the healthcare system, attributing these improvements to recent reforms.

Al-Sudani highlighted a “radical change” achieved through the activation of health insurance, which aims to alleviate financial burdens on citizens seeking medical treatment abroad. The government has allocated specific budgets to facilitate these changes, aiming to enhance accessible healthcare services for the Iraqi population. The session serves as a platform for discussing collaborative
efforts and strategies among Arab nations to improve healthcare outcomes across the region.
