Joint Operations Report Killing of 3 Terrorists, Including Key Leader, in Anbar Desert

Anbar: The Joint Operations Command has reported the elimination of three terrorists, including a key leader, in the depths of the Anbar desert. This operation marks a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation was the result of a week of intensive monitoring, field follow-up, and qualitative security work. The Joint Operations Command, in collaboration with the Land Forces Command, meticulously planned and supervised the operation. A joint force from the 18th Brigade of the 5th Division of the Iraqi Army and the Anbar Mobilization, specifically the Sheikh Mandoul Force, successfully executed a tightly coordinated ambush at dawn on January 22, 2025.

The statement from the Command revealed that, in addition to killing the terrorists, two vehicles used by the group were destroyed during the operation. The identities of the terrorists, particularly the key leader, are yet to be confirmed through technical work. The deceased were reportedly involved in extortion activities and were collecting money from local shepherds under false pretenses, further highlighting the significance of this successful operation in disrupting criminal activities in the region.
