Othman: The Dispute Between Baghdad And The KRG Regarding Salaries And Oil Is Political, Not Technical

Baghdad: Independent Kurdish politician, Mahmoud Othman confirmed that the dispute between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region regarding salaries and oil is political, not technical. Othman stated that despite the repeated meetings and discussions between the leaders of the region and the federal government, there has been no change in the problems and their solution regarding the salaries of employees in the region and the export and revenues of oil.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Othman explained that the issue has become a mystery between Baghdad and Erbil, as each party claims to complete the requirements for solving the problems, but the implementation is not present, and there is no third party between them to clarify the truth.

Othman pointed out that the coalition controlling the government did not do its duty towards the Kurdish and Sunni partners and did not implement what was agreed upon in the political agreement paper on the basis of which the government was formed, and therefore the problems between them are still clear to everyone.

He emphasized that the government coalition is supposed to implement the agreement quickly for an important reason, which is the current difficult situation the region is going through in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Iran, and to satisfy the Iraqi people with all its components and unify the internal front, otherwise they will face difficult future circumstances due to their lack of understanding of what is happening in the region.
