Security Media Announces Deaths of Key Terrorist Leaders in Iraqi Airstrike


Baghdad: The Security Media Cell has announced the successful elimination of significant terrorist leaders during a previous Iraqi airstrike in the Al-Zarka area, within the Salah al-Din Operations Command sector.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Security Media Cell released a statement detailing the operation, which was executed by F-16 aircraft on January 31, 2025. The mission was based on precise intelligence from the Military Intelligence Directorate and overseen by the targeting cell in the Joint Operations Command. The airstrike targeted a known terrorist hideout, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals, including key terrorist figures.



The statement confirmed the identities of the deceased through technical efforts and intelligence coordination with the international coalition. Among those killed was Dahham Muhammad Aliwi, also known as Abu Saeed al-Dandushi, the so-called governor of Kirkuk, responsible for multiple terrorist acts and crimes in the region. Another significant figure, Shahada Alawi Saleh, known as Abu Issa, who was the ISIS gangs’ official for the Hamrin sector, was also eliminated. Additionally, Bassem Rabie Al-Batoush, a crucial element within ISIS gangs, was confirmed dead.



The operation underscores the ongoing efforts and coordination between Iraqi forces and international partners to combat terrorism and enhance security in the region.
