Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani convened a meeting with leaders of Sunni blocs to deliberate on political conditions as well as the issues concerning detainees and displaced persons. A statement from the Speaker of the House of Representatives’ office highlighted the focus of the discussions on Iraq’s political situation and regional dynamics, along with current developments and local issues. The meeting aimed at formulating legislation to achieve social justice.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting addressed the necessary solutions to resolve outstanding issues, particularly those pertaining to detainees, displaced persons, and refugees, emphasizing the need for fair and comprehensive resolutions. The discussions also covered detailed political matters that ensure smooth operations within state institutions and enhance the role of provincial councils in supporting stability and development.

The participants underscored the importance of unity among Sunni leaders on regional issues and emphasized maintaining security and stability in Iraq and neighboring countries.
