Baiji: Al-Faris General Company, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, has announced the execution of multiple significant projects at the Al-Sumoud Refinery. These initiatives are being carried out under contracts with the Northern Refineries Company to bolster the oil sector.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the General Manager of Al-Faris General Company, Saif El-Din Ali Ahmed, stated that there is a continuous and increasing effort to implement various essential projects aimed at enhancing production capabilities and developing the refinery’s infrastructure. The projects include constructing cooling towers in Salah El-Din Section 2 to address the growing demand for chilled water due to expansions and increased production capacity. Additionally, there is a maintenance project for heat, water, and air exchangers in the same section to sustain production operations. The company is also constructing large tanks with different capacities for storing water and fuel, and installing, operating, and inspecting a new isomer press to improve the quality of petroleum derivatives in line with international standards. Other projects involve equipping, extending, and welding pipelines, manufacturing and installing steam boilers of various capacities, and manufacturing, equipping, and i
nstalling roofs for storing imported raw materials.

The General Manager emphasized that these projects are being executed with national expertise, adhering to international specifications and technologies, and within the predetermined schedule. He highlighted that the company is a leader in water technology, manufacturing filtration and treatment plants, and specializes in producing heavy engineering equipment for the oil, petrochemical, and food industries, along with manufacturing iron structures and various types of roofs.
