Baghdad: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naeem Al-Aboudi announced today a study of the project of sending talented students to international universities. The ministry stated that Al-Aboudi chaired a meeting of the Advisory Council to discuss a range of decisions and procedures related to university affairs under Article Six of the Law of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the attendees discussed the ministry’s steps to lay the foundation stone for the central laboratories project for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. They also considered several proposals that emphasized the importance of technical education and the development of undergraduate and graduate programs, research and training centers in universities, the quality of scientific research, and global classification indicators.

Al-Aboudi explained that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has provided the necessary impetus to diversify specializations and fields and integrate academic programs. The ministry is keen to provide the elements of success in all its institutions. The minister highlighted that a decision has been made to establish a model college for distinguished students starting from the next academic year. The ministry is currently studying a project to send talented students to international universities in various specializations required by the development needs in Iraq.
