Umm Qasr: The Border Ports Commission announced the seizure of various materials prepared for smuggling at the northern Umm Qasr port.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the spokesman for the Commission, Alaa Al-Din Al-Qaisi, stated in a statement that the Directorate of the Northern Umm Qasr Port successfully intercepted two containers, each measuring 40 feet, located outside the customs area at the search and investigation point. These containers were found to hold an assortment of human medicines and motorcycle chassis intended for smuggling, cleverly concealed behind materials declared in the completed customs transaction.

Al-Qaisi further explained that the seized materials have been referred to the Northern Umm Qasr Customs Police Station. This move is intended to facilitate their presentation to the competent investigating judge, who will hold those responsible for the smuggling attempt accountable.
