Wasit: A foreign national was apprehended by the Organized Crime Control Department in Wasit Governorate with a substantial amount of counterfeit currency in his possession.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior revealed that the suspect was found with nineteen thousand nine hundred counterfeit US dollars. The suspect allegedly attempted to smuggle this counterfeit currency into Iraq.

The arrest followed a meticulously planned ambush, ensuring the suspect’s capture. Authorities have initiated the necessary legal procedures to facilitate a thorough investigation into the matter.
