Basra: Basra Crime Control Police overthrew a gang specializing in stealing women’s bags. The Basra Police Command explained in a statement today: “The detachments of the Basra Crime Control Department carried out a qualitative operation that resulted in the overthrow of a criminal gang specializing in stealing women’s bags.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the perpetrators were riding a motorcycle where they snatched a handbag from a citizen while she was walking in the area of four streets before fleeing. The crime control teams moved immediately after receiving the report, relying on advanced investigation techniques and precise pursuit methods. They were able, in record time, to identify the accused and monitor their movements, leading to a successful operation without giving them any chance to escape.
The provincial Police Chief, Major General Abdul Latif Al-Saad, confirmed according to the statement: “This achievement reflects the high readiness and superior ability to combat crime in confronting crime in all its forms, and dealing with security issues firmly and quickly, stressing that Basra will not be a safe haven for criminals, and that the hand of justice will reach anyone who tries to tamper with the security of citizens.”
