Cairo: Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, announced that the date of the emergency Arab summit scheduled to be held in Egypt on the 27th of this month may be changed to another date, due to considerations related to the schedules of the leaders of the participating countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Zaki confirmed in a press statement today that Egypt’s keenness to have the largest number of leaders attend to ensure the success of the summit is the main motive for any possible postponement, stressing that the reasons will be purely logistical.

Zaki explained that the summit aims to formulate a unified and strong Arab position on the Palestinian issue, especially in light of the rejection of the displacement plan that was proposed by the Israeli side and later adopted by the US administration.

He pointed out that the Egyptian proposal will be the focus of discussions during the summit and includes proposals to rebuild Gaza through the Palestinian people themselves, in a way that ensures the provision of job opportunities without the need to displace the population outside the Strip.

Zaki stressed that the main goal of holding the summit is to support the Palestinian people and enhance their steadfastness, with the issuance of an official document that reflects this position.
