Zidane: The National Center for International Judicial Cooperation has begun its work on humanitarian issues: The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zidane, announced today that the National Center for International Judicial Cooperation has begun its work on urgent humanitarian issues that have claimed the lives of our people, especially the Yazidi component.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Zidane stated during a speech at the introductory ceremony for the center, attended by representatives of a number of diplomatic missions operating in Iraq, that the center was established in line with the Supreme Judicial Council’s vision to build judicial relations. This initiative aims to develop international judicial cooperation to consolidate the rule of law and protect human rights and dignity. The center is set to be a gateway for cooperation with all countries, facilitating the exchange of expertise and participating effectively in efforts to combat organized crime, terrorism, and its funding sources.

Zidane emphasized that cooperation is not merely an option but a necessity due to ongoing challenges that require collective efforts to confront terrorism, extremism, violence, drugs, and other crimes threatening security and stability in various countries.

The Supreme Judicial Council inaugurated the National Center for International Judicial Cooperation on December 29, 2024, following the conclusion of the International Investigation Team’s (UNITAD) work. The center aims to continue collecting evidence and prosecuting perpetrators of terrorist crimes.
