Pretoria: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov the current path to ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting in the Republic of South Africa.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, diplomatic sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry explained that the two ministers discussed recent diplomatic efforts to end the war. The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has been a focal point of international diplomatic activities, with various countries seeking a resolution.

Meanwhile, the Saudi capital, Riyadh, recently hosted talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Foreign Minister Marco Rubio. These discussions were part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to improve relations between the two countries. Lavrov, during a press conference in Riyadh, stated that Russia and the United States agreed to exchange ambassadors “as soon as possible” and to address issues affecting diplomatic missions.

Further, Lavrov mentioned that an understanding had been reached with the US delegation to find a resolution to the crisis with Ukraine soon. In a separate press conference, Rubio confirmed that an agreement was made with Moscow to form high-level committees to conduct peace negotiations. These negotiations are aimed at ending the Russian-Ukrainian war and promoting economic cooperation between the involved nations.
