Iraq and Russia Discuss Finalizing Draft to Boost Economic and Trade Cooperation


Baghdad: Iraq and Russia are working towards finalizing the draft joint minutes aimed at enhancing economic, trade, and scientific cooperation between the two nations. The Department of Foreign Economic Relations at the Ministry of Trade, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, conducted a video meeting as part of the Iraqi-Russian Joint Committee’s tenth session at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Director General of the Department, Riyadh Al-Hashemi, along with representatives from various Iraqi ministries and authorities, examined the draft minutes prepared by the committee’s rapporteurs. The objective is to develop a clear vision serving both countries’ interests by completing the draft in its final form, thereby contributing to strengthened economic, commercial, scientific, and technical cooperation between Iraq and Russia.



The meeting is a precursor to the final session of the committee, which is set to occur in Baghdad next week. This upcoming meeting will see the participation of both Iraqi and Russian representatives and is expected to culminate in the signing of a joint minutes.
