Te Kaif: The local government in Nineveh Governorate has initiated a significant campaign to reconstruct churches destroyed in the Tel Kaif District, north of Mosul. This effort aligns with the return of numerous displaced Christians to their original communities within the district.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil emphasized that the campaign is part of the government’s broader efforts to ensure the safe return of displaced Christians to their homes. He elaborated that churches are a vital component of the region’s identity and culture, and their restoration will aid in fostering social and religious stability.

The reconstruction projects are set to commence immediately and will encompass several churches in the Te Kaif District. Governor Al-Dakhil underscored the government’s commitment to providing comprehensive support to Christian communities in Nineveh, highlighting the importance of these initiatives in the broader context of regional stability and cultural preservation.
