Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met with Rola Dashti, the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), to discuss enhancing cooperation between Iraq and ESCWA. The discussions focused on working together towards achieving global sustainable development goals and supporting Iraq’s financial and economic reform initiatives, with a particular emphasis on economic and social priorities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s dedication to tackling poverty and unemployment and improving service levels. He emphasized that achieving tangible results in these areas is a priority, which includes promoting development investments, enhancing government administration, and developing a comprehensive performance measurement system.

Al-Sudani also underscored the critical role of artificial intelligence and digital transformation in fostering development. He pointed out the importance of collaborating with international organizations to leverage these technologies in supporting national economic reforms across various sectors and aspects of life.
