Ministry of Justice Releases Over 500 Inmates in February


Baghdad: The Ministry of Justice announced the monthly position of inmates released from the Correctional Department during February 2025. The ministry reported that a total of 594 inmates were released across Baghdad and other governorates.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry’s statement detailed that of the 594 releases, 572 inmates were freed through release decisions, discriminatory decisions, or after completing their sentences. This marks a significant effort by the ministry to manage inmate populations and uphold judicial processes.



The ministry also emphasized its commitment to maintaining a precise release mechanism. It aims to ensure that all legal procedures are completed thoroughly, aligning with standards of justice and the rule of law. This ongoing diligence reflects the ministry’s dedication to the fair and equitable treatment of inmates within the correctional system.
