Baghdad: Minister of Health Saleh Mahdi al-Hasnawi discussed strengthening health cooperation between the two countries with the Thai Ambassador to Iraq and the Advisor to the Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Ministry of Health stated that "Minister of Health Saleh Mahdi al-Hasnawi received today, Monday, the Thai Ambassador to Iraq, Supark Prongthura, the Advisor to the Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dusit Manapan, and their accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister's Advisor for Industry and Minerals, Hamoudi Abbas Hamid, representatives of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Technical Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Hani al-Aqabi, and a number of directors-general and department heads at the ministry's headquarters."

The statement explained that "during the meeting, they discussed strengthening health cooperation between the two countries, including in the field of medical evacuation and recruitment, the pharmaceutical industry localization program, the exchange of expertise, and the enhancement of health insurance."

The statement added, "The Thai Ambassador expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister for the warm reception, and presented the ministry with a symbolic souvenir bearing Iraqi antiquities, expressing his country's high pride and their desire to strengthen the bonds of cooperation with Iraq in all fields, including the health sector."
