Diyala Scrap Sites Declared Free from Radiological Pollution


Diyala: The supervisory teams from the National Authority for Nuclear, Radiological, Chemical and Biological Supervision have confirmed that scrap collection and transportation sites in Diyala Governorate are free from radiological pollution. The radiological surveys were conducted meticulously in several districts, including Baquba, Aldouz, Al-Muqdadiya, Al-Khalis, and Khan Bani Saad.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mohamed Rashid, Director of the Diyala branch of the supervisory body, reported that the radiological surveying operations were specifically targeted at service sites within the private sector. The tests, performed with advanced measuring devices, revealed no traces of radiological pollution at these sites. Rashid emphasized the ongoing efforts by the supervisory teams to regularly monitor the scrap collection sites to ensure adherence to environmental and radiological standards and instructions.
