Baghdad: The Head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, Muhammad Samaan Agha, recently held a meeting with Hadi Al-Amiri, the head of the Al-Fateh coalition, to discuss the political, security, and service-related concerns of the Turkmen population. This meeting was attended by the rapporteur of the House of Representatives, Gharib Askar, and Atef Al-Najjar, a member of the Salahuddin Provincial Council.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the delegation emphasized the necessity for equitable political representation of the Turkmen community within Iraq’s executive and legislative bodies. They highlighted the importance of integrating Turkmen voices into decision-making processes, asserting their role as an integral component of the country’s social fabric.

Furthermore, the delegation called for the inclusion of Turkmen-populated areas in national reconstruction and development initiatives. They stressed the importance of addressing administrative and service neglect, while advocating for the protection of Turkmen educational rights, particularly the right to be educated in their native language. Ensuring the security of Turkmen communities against demographic changes and forced marginalization was also a key topic of discussion.
