Abu Dhabi: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will make an official visit to the United Arab Emirates to discuss relations between the two countries and developments in the region. Sources at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Fidan’s discussions with the Emirati side will cover bilateral relations, the situation in Gaza, developments in Syria, and other regional issues.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Fidan will emphasize during the talks the priority of re-establishing the ceasefire in Gaza and ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid. He will reiterate the need to increase pressure on Israel to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and oppose efforts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their homeland.

Fidan will also highlight the necessity for the international community to take steps against Israel’s ongoing attacks on Syrian soil. He will confirm Turkey’s support for Syrian territorial integrity and sovereignty, while also stressing the importance of lifting sanctions that worsen the living conditions of the Syrian people and hinder development efforts in Syria.

The Turkish Foreign Minister is expected to exchange views with Emirati officials on joint actions that can be taken to ensure peace and stability in the region. Fidan had previously visited the Emirates on December 24 and 25.
