Trump Pledges to Increase Trade with India and Pakistan After Ceasefire Agreement

Washington: US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he will increase trade with both India and Pakistan and that he will work with both countries to reach a solution to the Kashmir dispute. This comes after the two countries agreed to a ceasefire after days of fighting, following US pressure and diplomatic efforts. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said: “I am very proud of the strong, unwavering leadership of India and Pakistan, who have shown strength, wisdom, and courage, fully understanding that it is time to stop the current aggression that could have resulted in so many lives lost and so much property destroyed.” Millions of innocent people could have died!”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump added, “I am proud that the United States was able to help you reach this historic and heroic decision. Although this was not discussed, I will significantly increase trade with these two great countries.” He noted that he will work with India and Pakistan to see if, after “a thousand years,” a solution to Kashmir can be reached.
