Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has reiterated the government's unwavering support for political prisoners. A statement from his media office highlighted that Al-Sudani met with Walid Abdul-Hassan al-Sahlani, the head of the Political Prisoners Foundation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the government's dedication to addressing the needs of political prisoners. This commitment is to be realized through specific laws, directives, and legislation aimed at ensuring their requirements are adequately met.

Al-Sudani underscored the significant role that the sacrifices of these prisoners have played in establishing a democratic system in Iraq. He noted that their efforts have allowed all Iraqis to enjoy freedom, preserve their rights, and safeguard their dignity in the current democratic landscape.
