Turkish President Meets Syrian Counterpart in Istanbul

Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with his Syrian counterpart, Ahmed al-Sharaa, in Istanbul on Saturday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting between Erdogan and al-Sharaa took place behind closed doors at the Turkish Presidential Office in Dolmabah§e Palace and lasted for an hour and a half.

The meeting was attended from the Turkish side by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yasar Gler, and Intelligence Director Ibrahim Kalin, along with Akif Cagatay Kili§, the President's Senior Advisor for Foreign Policy and Security, and Haluk Grgn, the Chairman of the Defense Industries Presidency.

The meeting was attended from the Syrian side by Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani and a number of officials.
