Al Sudani and British Ambassador Discuss Economic Partnership and Bilateral Agreements


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani met with the British Ambassador to Iraq, Irfan Siddiq, to discuss enhancing the economic partnership and exploring bilateral agreements and understandings between their respective countries.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office detailed that during the meeting, both parties examined avenues for joint cooperation and efforts to fortify the economic partnership under the framework of existing bilateral agreements. Al Sudani highlighted Iraq’s current openness in development sectors, infrastructure reconstruction, and the expansion of state capabilities to deliver services. He also emphasized the potential for collaboration between Iraqi public and private sectors with British companies across various investment initiatives.



Ambassador Irfan Siddiq expressed the British government’s commitment to deepening cooperation and partnership with Iraq. He reiterated the importance of working collaboratively to foster stability in the region.
