Sanaa: The Yemeni armed forces affiliated with the Houthis issued a statement on Thursday evening announcing the implementation of a military operation targeting Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport with a hypersonic ballistic missile.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Houthi Spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said in a video statement: “In support of the oppressed Palestinian people and their mujahideen, and in rejection of the crime of genocide committed by the Zionist enemy against our brothers in the Gaza Strip, the missile force of the Yemeni armed forces carried out a military operation targeting Lod Airport, known in Israel as Ben Gurion Airport, in the occupied Jaffa region.”
Yahya Saree added that the targeting operation was carried out with a hypersonic ballistic missile. He confirmed that the operation successfully achieved its goal, forcing millions of Israelis to flee to shelters and halting air traffic at the airport. He stressed that the Yemeni forces will continue to fulfill their religious, moral, and humanitarian duty toward the Palestinians until the aggression against them stops and the siege is lifted.
Saree stated that they will confront any Israeli aggression against Yemen with further supportive operations for the Palestinian people, including the continued ban on Israeli air traffic to and from Ben Gurion Airport.
Earlier, the Israeli military said it intercepted a rocket fired from Yemen after sirens were heard in several areas in Israel. Israeli police are conducting searches to locate the remains of the rocket.
