Washington: The US President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that a ceasefire agreement in Gaza was “very close.” In a joint press conference with Elon Musk, President Trump stated, “We are very close to reaching an agreement in the Gaza Strip, and I will see you today or tomorrow.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, US officials are currently awaiting an official response from Hamas concerning a proposed 60-day ceasefire agreement in Gaza. The potential truce aims to bring a temporary halt to escalating tensions in the region.

In addition to the Gaza situation, President Trump addressed the ongoing nuclear talks with Iran. He expressed optimism about reaching a deal without resorting to military action, emphasizing that “Iran wants a nuclear deal, and we don’t want to let it go.” President Trump indicated that there might be a possibility of reaching an agreement with Iran in the near future.

On the same day, President Trump hosted Elon Musk in the Oval Office as part of his departure from the White House. During the meeting, Trump praised Musk for his contributions to government reform plans and the decision to impose tariffs. He highlighted Musk’s role as “a partner in the great successes achieved in recent months,” and mentioned that many members of Musk’s team would continue in their roles.
