Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command has successfully conducted security operations leading to the arrest of several suspects and the seizure of weapons and ammunition near Rusafa. Among those apprehended were individuals charged with “premeditated murder” and “theft.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Baghdad Operations Command stated that these actions are part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and stability, particularly as Eid al-Adha approaches. The operations aim to pursue outlaws and combat organized and criminal activities, as well as to address tribal conflicts. Units from the First Federal Police Division, supported by intelligence agencies, executed a comprehensive regional search and inspection exercise. This led to the arrest of suspects under various legal charges, including those caught in the act of committing “premeditated murder” and “theft.” Additionally, individuals involved in tribal quarrels were apprehended, and several unlicensed weapons and ammunition were seized in areas such as Diyala Bridge, Al-Ta’mim, and Abazar Al-Ghafari, southeast of the capital.
The arrested suspects and confiscated items have been handed over to the competent authorities to proceed with the necessary legal procedures. The operations underscore the commitment of the Baghdad Operations Command to maintaining law and order in the region.
