Baghdad: The Iraqi Hajj Mission has announced the successful completion of its operation to transfer all Iraqi air pilgrims from Mecca back to Iraq by dawn on Sunday. This effort involved the organization and provision of modern, air-conditioned Iraqi buses to transport the pilgrims from the Arar border crossing to their respective governorates.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mission spokesperson Hassan Fahd Al-Kanani stated that the mission has effectively managed to return most of the Iraqi pilgrims who arrived by air to the Arar border crossing by land. The mission ensured the comfort of the pilgrims with modern, air-conditioned buses for their onward journey. Al-Kanani also noted that the transfer of the small remaining number of pilgrims from Medina will be completed in the coming days.

Al-Kanani emphasized the mission’s organizational success in handling this emergency situation, providing logistical services and meals at strategic locations such as Medina, the Arar border crossing, and the Pilgrims and Umrah Pilgrims City in the holy Karbala Governorate. The mission’s efforts ensured the smooth transition of pilgrims under challenging circumstances.

Furthermore, Al-Kanani highlighted the Supreme Hajj and Umrah Commission’s readiness to support pilgrims from other Islamic countries whose land routes pass through Iraq. By equipping the best Iraqi buses and providing essential services, Iraq aims to facilitate the safe and comfortable journey of the guests of God, even amid the challenging regional circumstances.
