Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has firmly expressed his opposition to any breaches of Iraqi airspace, emphasizing that such actions infringe upon the nation’s sovereignty and contravene international laws and conventions.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s statement came after a telephonic conversation with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, where they discussed regional developments and the impacts of what was described as Zionist aggression against Iran. During the call, al-Sudani reiterated his stance on the airspace violations and highlighted the importance of regional cooperation.
Al-Sudani underscored the necessity of strengthening coordination among regional countries to effectively address current challenges, ensuring the security and stability of their nations. Additionally, he emphasized the significance of ceasing the aggressive actions and advocated for supporting the ongoing negotiation process between Iran and the United States.
