Diyala: Detachments from the Control Affairs Department of the Diyala Police Command seized a truck loaded with 475 cartons of alcoholic beverages prepared for smuggling and disguised in an innovative manner in an attempt to pass them through security checkpoints.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brigadier General Haitham Al-Shammari, Director of Media for the Diyala Police, stated that security services are making continuous efforts to pursue smugglers by tightening inspection procedures and intensifying intelligence work to prevent the passage of prohibited substances.

He further mentioned that legal measures have been taken against the driver and those involved, and the seized items have been duly handed over to the competent authorities.
