Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed, on Monday, Iraq’s solidarity with the sisterly State of Qatar and the importance of preserving its sovereignty and security.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry expressed grave concern over the dangerous and accelerating escalation in the region, specifically pointing to an attack on Qatar. The Ministry reiterated Iraq’s solidarity with Qatar, emphasizing the importance of maintaining its sovereignty and security. Iraq had previously warned about the potential for such developments, citing the significant risks that threaten the security and stability of the entire region.

The Ministry highlighted that this escalation signals further tension and marks a dangerous and unprecedented turning point in the conflict. Iraq has repeatedly warned about the potential involvement of new parties in the conflict, which could lead to an expansion of hostilities-a goal that has allegedly been pursued by the Zionist entity through its persistent aggression over the past two years.

Reaffirming its stance, the Ministry stated that the resolution of regional crises lies in dialogue and diplomatic engagement, rather than military options that only exacerbate escalation and suffering. The Ministry called for restraint and unified efforts to de-escalate tensions, urging the prioritization of reason and common interests to ensure the security and stability of the region’s peoples.
