Baghdad: President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the need to adhere to election timelines and determine the necessary mechanisms to enforce the provisions of the law, with results announced on time.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a presidential statement revealed that the President met with the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission, Judge Omar Ahmed Mohammed, at the Baghdad Palace. The meeting focused on the Commission’s preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The President emphasized the importance of adhering to the timelines and deciding on the necessary mechanisms to enforce the law, ensuring that election results are announced promptly.

Furthermore, the President stressed the importance of providing the necessary requirements to ensure the success of the elections and taking legal action against those who misuse political funds. Judge Omar Ahmed expressed gratitude to the President for his interest and guidance. He also reviewed the Commission’s readiness and preparations to hold the elections on schedule, in alignment with constitutional timelines.
