Basra: Basra Oil Company denied on Monday that production operations in its oil fields had been affected by what was circulated on social media regarding the departure of foreign personnel. The company stated that the temporary evacuation of some foreign personnel, particularly from the British company BP operating in the Rumaila field, had no impact on the production process. Iraqi personnel are fully handling operations and monitoring in cooperation with the remote operator.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, ENI has gradually reduced its staff from 260 employees to 98, and they continue to work normally in the field alongside Iraqi personnel managing petroleum operations. The report also highlighted that Chinese companies operating the West Qurna 1, Siba, and Fayha fields have not evacuated Chinese personnel, and work is proceeding smoothly.
Furthermore, the statement clarified that Lukoil has experienced no influence or evacuation of foreign personnel from the field. It was also noted that Total has evacuated 60% of its personnel as a precautionary measure, yet petroleum operations remain unaffected.
