Ankara: The Turkish Presidency has refuted claims circulating in some media outlets alleging that the United States utilized Turkish airspace during its recent attack on nuclear sites in Iran.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Counter-Disinformation Center, which is part of the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Office, issued a statement on Monday labeling the media reports as misleading. The statement emphasized that “Turkish airspace was not violated during Israel’s attacks on Iran and was not used during the attacks carried out by the United States against Iranian nuclear sites.”

The statement further clarified the route taken by the US bombers, explaining that they flew from the United States, entered the Mediterranean via the Strait of Gibraltar, and reached Israel from the southern Mediterranean before striking Iran by crossing Iraqi airspace. After the attack, the bombers returned to the United States, refueling over the Mediterranean Sea, south of the Greek island of Crete.

The context of these events includes a series of strikes launched by Israel on Iran since the 13th of this month, with the recent US strikes targeting Iranian nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan early Sunday morning in support of Israel.
