To Pursue ISIS Remnants, PMF and Iraqi Army Conduct Joint Security Operation in Mosul Villages

Mosul: The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) carried out a joint security operation with army forces in the villages of Mosul.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the PMF stated in a statement that a force from the 58th Brigade within the PMF’s Nineveh Operations Command, in coordination with Iraqi army units, carried out a qualitative security operation in the villages of Al-Khattab and Hashtar, both located in Mosul. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to track down terrorist cells and enhance security and stability in Nineveh Governorate.

The operation targeted combing agricultural areas and roads, searching for wanted individuals, and searching for hideouts that ISIS remnants may use to carry out attacks or sabotage activities.

The PMF explained that this operation is part of a series of proactive security measures implemented by the security forces and the PMF to prevent the return of terrorism to areas of Mosul and to ensure the preservation of the security stability achieved after the liberation operations.
