Baghdad: Iranian media announced this morning, Wednesday, that the country’s authorities “arrested 700 people on charges of spying for Israel in 12 days, and seized more than 10,000 drones in the capital, Tehran, alone.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iranian Nour News Agency reported that “the Zionist regime’s spy network has been significantly active in the country since the start of the Israeli attack on Iran on June 13,” noting that “the majority of the arrests were in the provinces of Kermanshah, Isfahan, Khuzestan, Fars, and Lorestan, respectively, while the exact number of arrests in Tehran Province has not yet been announced.”

The Agency added that “the security measures attributed to them include operating drones, manufacturing bombs, photographing sensitive military sites, and sending information to the Israeli army.”

Separately, the Agency announced that the country’s authorities executed three people in Urmia Prison on charges of spying for Israel and attempting to smuggle terrorist equipment into the country.

US President Donald Trump announced that Iran and Israel had agreed to a ceasefire early Tuesday morning, following a mutual military escalation between the two countries that lasted approximately 12 days.
