Iraq Reiterates Sovereignty and Commitment to Regional Peace


Baghdad: Head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, affirmed that Iraq has consistently communicated to the US administration its status as a sovereign nation dedicated to fostering peace in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim, speaking before a large crowd on the occasion of the first of Muharram, emphasized Iraq’s intention to remain neutral in conflicts, stating that the country does not wish to become embroiled in wars or become a source of threat to any nation.

He further elaborated that Iraq is committed to its national interests and will not submit to external pressures that contradict the will and interests of its people. Al-Hakim’s statements underline Iraq’s stance on maintaining its sovereignty and prioritizing regional stability.
