Najaf Friday Prayer Leader: Iranian Victory Foiled Israel’s Lie of “Invincible Power”

Najaf: Najaf Friday Prayer Leader and Imam Sadr al-Din al-Qabanji spoke about the end of the 12-day war and Iran’s victory over Israel. This came during the political sermon for Friday prayers. Qabanji said, “The 12-day war has ended, inflicting a crushing defeat on Israel and America, a defeat that no one on earth expected except the Shiites of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and as acknowledged by the American President.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, he said, “This battle ended with a crushing defeat for the forces of global arrogance, and here we congratulate the Shiites and the Islamic nation on this remarkable victory.” He added that Iran’s victory brought about “a global leap in Shiism and the unity of the Iranian people, which was met with the collapse of American arrogance and the failure of Israel’s lie of ‘invincible power,’ along with the failure of the theory of normalization and the revival of the Palestinian issue.” He also asserted that Israel is neither safe nor the Promised Land.

In another context, Al-Qabbanji condemned the church bombing in Syria, stating, “We condemn the church bombing in Damascus this week, which claimed the lives of dozens of victims. We condemn this act, just as we condemn the alignment of some Arab kings with Israel and their shameful positions.”

Al-Qabbanji concluded his Friday sermon by discussing local affairs, calling on the civil administration to find a solution to the waste issue in the governorate.
