Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his British counterpart, David Lammy, discussed bilateral relations and efforts to strengthen them in all fields during their meeting today in the capital, Ankara.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, emphasized the importance of Turkey’s relations with Britain, a NATO ally and strategic partner, amidst a welcome of the positive performance of bilateral relations between the two sides.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the importance of continued close cooperation between the relevant parties in the field of security and counterterrorism, stressing that relations in the fields of economy, trade, finance, defense industries, and tourism constitute a driving force between the two countries.

The meeting also addressed the importance of negotiations to update the free trade agreement, which will advance economic relations between Ankara and London and increase the volume of trade exchange between them.
