Palestinian Ministry Urges Global Action Against Land Seizures in Masafer Yatta

Al-khalil: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a call for international intervention to halt the occupation’s seizure of lands in the Masafer Yatta area, south of al-Khalil. The ministry emphasized the urgency of global responsibility in addressing this issue.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry expressed grave concern over recent actions by the Israeli occupation authorities, who have issued notices to seize hundreds of dunams and critical roads in the area. The ministry characterized these actions as part of a broader strategy to expand colonial settlements, thereby displacing the original Palestinian inhabitants and facilitating a gradual annexation of significant parts of the occupied West Bank.

The ministry’s statement highlighted the detrimental impact of these seizure notices, which effectively fragment Masafer Yatta, isolate Palestinian villages, and restrict Palestinian access to essential agricultural lands and pastures. This process, the ministry asserted, serves to connect settlements and colonial outposts, further entrenching the occupation.

The ministry condemned these actions as blatant violations of international law, including international legitimacy resolutions and the Geneva Conventions, aimed at altering the historical, political, and legal landscape of the occupied West Bank.

The ministry reiterated its commitment to engaging with international entities and countries to address these violations, warning of the potential regional instability they could provoke. It called for decisive international intervention to halt these measures and all other unilateral actions by the occupation deemed illegal under international law.
