Baghdad Council Votes by Majority to Retain Abdul Mutalib Al-Alawi as Governor


Baghdad: The Baghdad Provincial Council voted by majority to retain Abdul Mutalib Al-Alawi as Governor.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a brief statement by the Baghdad Governorate indicated that the decision was made to cancel the previous session of the Baghdad Provincial Council. The council then proceeded to vote by majority to retain Abdul Mutalib Al-Alawi as Governor.



Last Thursday, the Baghdad Provincial Council had dismissed Governor Abdul Mutalib Al-Alawi and had voted to select Haider Mohan as the new Governor of the capital.
