Moscow: Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that the Ministry of Defense’s air defenses shot down six drones heading towards Moscow. Sobyanin wrote on his Telegram channel: “The air defenses on duty shot down six drones heading towards Moscow. Emergency services experts are working at the crash site.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Rosaviatsia News Agency also reported that 171 flights were canceled at Sheremetyevo Airport between arrivals and departures, in addition to more than 56 departures being delayed for more than two hours.

A statement posted by the Agency on Telegram read: “As of 18:00 Moscow time, 171 incoming and outgoing flights at Sheremetyevo have been canceled. There are still delays of more than two hours for 56 outgoing flights. 65 flights from Terminal B and 11 from Terminal C are scheduled to depart between 18:00 and 21:00 Moscow time. 15,000 passengers are preparing for takeoff and undergoing pre-flight procedures.”

He added that to reduce the time required to return to the normal flight schedule, the airport, particularly its largest carrier – Aeroflot – has increased the number of staff working at Sheremetyevo.
