PMF Capture A Wanted Man Accused Of Belonging To ISIS In Kirkuk


Kirkuk: The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) apprehended a man wanted by the judiciary on charges of belonging to the ISIS terrorist organization in Kirkuk province.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the PMF Commission detailed the arrest: “Detachments from the Investigations and Preventive Security Directorate, affiliated with the General Directorate of Security and Discipline within the PMF Commission, arrested, after obtaining the necessary judicial approvals, one of the individuals wanted by the judiciary in Kirkuk province.”

The statement added that the operation was carried out based on precise intelligence information, enabling the detachments to accurately pinpoint his location in the province and execute the security operation, resulting in his arrest.

It further indicated that initial information revealed the suspect’s connection to former members and leaders of the ISIS terrorist organization. Investigations also revealed that his uncle held the position of the so-called
‘Governor of the Tigris’ within the organization.
