Basra: Basra Police arrested a person accused of practicing witchcraft and sorcery. The Basra Police Command stated in a statement: “Detachments from al-Hussein Police Department and Al-Farahidi Police Station arrested a person accused of practicing witchcraft and sorcery and defrauding citizens, luring some women with false claims.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, talismans and books used in witchcraft were seized from the accused. The command called on citizens to be wary of these methods, not to deal with those claiming to practice witchcraft, and to report them immediately to protect society from exploitation and deception.
